  • Pick up listening where you stopped reading: your position in the e-book now travels to your other devices as a listening position — get in the car in the morning and CarPlay starts right at the passage you read, with no prompt. So that a late look-up in the book doesn't quietly rewind your listening position, the app never jumps back more than ten minutes
  • Apple Watch: control headphone volume directly — swipe up one page in the player and turn the Digital Crown. That changes your AirPods' volume, not just the in-app level, which could never go louder than the system volume
  • A heads-up instead of a dead end: the camera text search and the jumps between text and audio need your audiobook's speech analysis. If it's missing, the app now tells you up front — instead of letting you take a photo and then finding nothing — and offers to start the analysis right away. Newly added books point this out once
  • CarPlay now picks up new positions from your iPhone or iPad while you're driving — even when they arrive after connecting

  • Books in English, French and Spanish: a book's language can now be set and is detected automatically from the e-book — it drives the audiobook's speech recognition, the camera text search and therefore the accuracy of every jump between text and audio
  • ZIP archives are unpacked automatically: drop a .zip containing your audiobook and e-book into the AudioBookSync folder — the app unpacks it into its own book folder on the next scan
  • Deleting a book folder in iCloud Drive could crash the app several times before the book disappeared from your library — removal now completes quickly and cleanly
  • Home screen widget updates reliably again: right after launching the app and after taking over a position from another device
  • Your reading position no longer jumps backwards when opening the reader
  • Fixed a rare case where the listening position could be reset to 0:00
